I have been super lucky over the past few weeks... 10 bikes in two weeks.

Most of these will be flipped in the spring, but for now it gives me some winter projects. Does anyone have any info on the split bar 20" red bike? I am guessing a Tornado but I am not 100%, the only serial numbers I could find are on the seat tube 008164? I should have better pictures in the morning and see what's what.

Nice score. I see a couple of BFK's, modern cruisers and a complete spaceliner (possibly a 63).

Not sure what that 20" Schwinn is, but it appears to have a spaceliner chainring on it.

I have never seen this type either? :? I pulled the crank and it said '62, no stamp on the stem or no serial numbers in the normal places...I also doesn't have a brake bridge.

Looks like a 20" model. The original owner said it had solid rubber tires... no tubes?

I tried to search the Bob Hofford catalogs but geocities seems to be down.

Thats the 63 link (canti frame version), i didnt see one listed for 62 in the catalogs, so maybe yours is an earlier verison, the hard tires would make sense with those dropouts as the other hard tired kids bikes all have the rear facing dropouts.

The Skipper which is listed for 62 also came with hard tires. I think the buddy replaced the skipper in 63. I would think that makes yours a skipper. Matt

I know I have seen that frame style as Typhoons mainly but also as Tornados and Skippers in the full size 26" models.

Pretty sure it's a Buddy. Here are a few shots of mine. It was the cheap 20" bike of the time for Schwinn but i really like the double straightbar.

Mine did have hard rubber tires on the white S7's. They were ruined so I replaced them so the kids would have more fun with the bike. I remember hating hard rubber tires when I was a kid.
