This has been my winter bike project. I intend to use it mostly to ride to work and back, and also as an extra bike for someone who wants to go riding with me.

When I first received the frame from U.S. Choppers, the plan was to heavily modify it by moving the bottom backet and lowering it. As I was looking at the frame one day to try to get some inspiration, my wife (whom I often bounce around ideas with) said, "It looks like an off-road bike because it sits so high. You should make it an off-road chopper!" I took the idea and ran with it, envisioning a Monster Chopper. So I made a few mods - mostly cable guides, kickstand mount, fabricated my own flask cage for the jerry can flask - and finished it up with the right parts. I had it powder coated dark blue with a killer green and blue metallic. I also tapped in stainless steel button head screws around the wheels for that bolted on tire look.

Tough looking bike, I dig that masssive rear triangle big time 8)

What brand are those bags, and how do they sit on the bike ?

Ace,

It was the massive rear triangle that also got my focus so thats why I changed direction after getting the frame.
The bags I got on Amazon and two things I was looking for something other then black, size and ease getting in and out of them.
No mountain bike rack would work just not wide enough so I got this rear fender rack for a motorcycle and fabed it to the bike then powder coated it black. I can send pic later.

Fantastic! The high BB lends itself to a more useful bike I bet. The tire bead bolts are an awesome idea! I love those bags. what was your search term on Amazon? I am getting one of those flasks for sure.

Hey it's nice to turn sharply and still pedel. On Amazon a it was bicycle panniers I think, and google E-flasks for that jerry can flask.

I'ld appreciate that very much Al, would love to have a set like like this on my Ghostrider.
The jerrycan flask is awesome too - only for flammable liquids, right ?

Ace - It was much easier to modify a motorcycle fender rack because, besides being wide, its made out of steel. Since I can ony braze weld it worked out.

Very nicely done Al, that arch looks like it really belongs there. Even without the bags, it's very complementary to the bike's theme. This is one of my all time favourite bikes. I always envisioned a flat rack, but you have given me a great angle for mine. Also, if you close the centre of the rack it functions as a mudgueard too. Not that it rains much around your parts, judging by the pics, but in my case: might have to steal this idea from you, cheers !
