About 6 years ago I bought this Elgin frame off of Ebay and since then it's had a few transformations.
First I started off building it into sort of a BMX cruiser...
At one point I picked up a KOS Kruiser frame and fork and ended up robbing most of the parts off of the Elgin to build it up. I had some other spare parts and decided to build it up like this...
Somewhere down the line I ended up deciding to sell off the frame and fork set and Henry Morgan ended up buying it from me. He took it back to Oklahoma and eventually he built it up the way he liked it.
Eventually Henry wanted something that I had and he ended up trading the Elgin back to me. This time I got it back with a skiptooth set of wheels and crank along with a springer fork.
A few months later old Henry regretted letting it go and ended up buying it back from me again. After several more months Henry decides to get rid of his bikes and focus on his VW bus so I buy what he has left and....yep, you guessed it, the Elgin is back again.
I ended up doing some part swapping amongst all of the bikes that he sold me and today I decided to build the Elgin up again to see how it rode. Part of the deal with Henry included a $300 set of Shimano Nexus 8 speed wheels that he had built up so I decided to throw them on there. Had to rob a few parts from some of my other bikes, but I was pretty pleased with the way it turned out. The bike hauls BOO TAY now and is super smooth and tight.
Now the big question is...do I keep it or do I sell it.
