Bummer! I Fixed It!

So I was out riding with my 9yr old son tried to do a big long skid to "show him how its done"
the rusty starp holding the brake arm on the chain stay broke pulled the brake lever and handlebars out of my hand the brake arm spun around
one and a half times tell the cable bent the arm. Also the fender brace help stop it :shock: I think I can fix the fender and maybe the hub with a big hammer :roll:

I thought i saw somewhere a brake rod arm bracket made from a spoon handle. that was a cool idea for an otherwise mundane part. It would be rugged too

I am thinking about the spoon idea or a loop of chain.

I took the roller brake off the wheel and put it in the vise
hard to bend back, but I think it will work pics to come.

I was able to bend the brake arm back. not perfect but I did not want to break it bending it back.

I made a bracelet loops around brake arm with a bolt going through chain and arm

New fender brace

Rode 10 miles last night to Chicago monthly ride no problems need to straighten the cable mount a little but very
happy that it works!
