buzz bike problem

Ok I bought a 68 buzz bike today that is giving me a headache lol. The problem Its having is that you can peddle one whole turn before the rear hub catches, Any ideas on whats wrong with it?

check the cone nuts and make sure there is no slop, otherwise I'd take the thing apart and make sure the drive clutch isn't worn.

what kind of hub ?

Sounds like a Bendix (red band or rb2), the brake arm will have "RB2" stamped on it if that is what it is. Once you have identified it you can find the parts diagrams online easily. I would go ahead and rebuild the hub. Both are very simple to rebuild and fresh grease will go a long way.

I had the same problem with a RB2 I had, I re-built it and the grease was like molasses, I cleaned and re-built it and it worked great.
