you can just make an "L" bracket, but usually there are an extra set of dimples in springer fork fenders (1 set for the truss rods, 1 set for the fork legs)
it should fit but the fender will probably be rubbing on the legs and truss rods due to the spacing, you could always bend it by hand so it would clear if it bothers you though.

theres the profile of balloon tire fenders made for a springer fork, if the ones you painted are middleweight fenders you may not have that tight of a squeeze to deal with but they will probly still make contact with the fork.
