I hope this is in the right part of the forum, but I came across this Western Flyer and can't find any more info
on it.

A Chinese K-Mart bike costs that much, I'd prefer old American Iron myself. Assuming there are no condition issues not visible in the photos, I would say $100.oo is well within reason. When I tried to blow up your tinypic image to see the rear dropout, it turned into a blur. A close-up would probably help w/maker and year I.D., but someone familiar w/that particular bike will probably post in the daytime.

Thank you, deorman. I was wondering b/c this would be my first project bike and it seems like a steal.
Any ideas on the value of old Western Flyers like this?

if it makes you feel any better about it, i sold a fender light like that one for $80 a little while back. dont know the value as a whole though

It's still a little blurry. If that is a rear facing dropout, it could bring a few hundred, depending on the originality of parts, paint, etc.. Kind of depends on timing and location of sale as well. It looks really good from what I can tell.

Yeah, that actually makes me feel better. I don't want to restore something worth less than the restoration cost.

I believe it's made by Huffman (Huffy), early-mid 50s. If the chainguard wraps around like that on the inside too, definitely Huffman. The tank alone is worth $100+ go get it, son! It looks like the paint is in good shape too, probably doesn't need restoring, clean it up and cruise

Definitely a Huffy and $100 is a steal for sure! :)

That jet logo sure seems familiar. Haven't found a photo anywhere on the interweb of the model. Some elements appear circa 1951; others make me wanna put it later in the decade. What width are the tires?

I expect it's easily worth $100. But y'gotta know, there's few bikes that restoration costs won't rapidly push the limits of collectors value. I try not to look at it from that standpoint. It's basically to think, "what's the balance sheet on what a hypothetical person would pay for this if I did this and that to it like I guess they would want?" Well then, let them buy it and do this and that to it like they want.

You got two different color pedals there, but what else needs done?

great bike and id have to concur that it is definatly a huffy built bike with what looks to be a wald chainring. im thinking that western flyer badged bikes were built by either murray or huffy.

Man with all this messin around I hope you didnt miss this one. That bike is worth way more than $100 bucks regaurdless of what brand it is.The bike is complete and looks to be ride ready. You cant get a Next brand cruiser for that cheap!Go scoop it up and take better pics for us.

totally worth $100. tank, nice saddle, truss rods, sweet chain guard, headlight, ect... paint looks good too. looks like someone striped the tank which is pretty cool. it would cost you a lot more than $100 to piece this together off the web. i'd be all over that :D
