Sorry if this has been covered, but I've searched around and can't find a clear answer.
Basically I am wondering if you can use a Shimano 3-speed shifter (Stick shift in this case) with a SA 3-speed hub on an old english bike (71 in this instance)? I've read that a SA shifter will wear down a Shimano hub after time, but that the Shimano 333 weren't all that great anyway. So is the reverse true? Will the Shimano Shifter wear down the SA hub?
I am also keeping my eyes out for a cheap SA stick shift, but there seem to be more Shimano ones. Especially long handle ones!
