Carlton Cobra build

So my stepson owed me £90 for like the last eight months, so I levered this 1970s Carlton Cobra frame from him by way of paying off his debt. Wheels from ebay (£30) All the other parts were knocking around in the garage.

It's a mash-up of Cycle Speedway bikes and British 'Tracker' bikes from the sixties with a little Grasstrack thrown in for good measure. I hate the front lamp bracket so someone on Cycle Chat Forum (a Scotsman predictably) suggested I fit a bottle opener. Needs a little lower gearing and the gold glitter grips are 100% wrong!

Nearer to completion: Kashimax seat, alu seat post, de-stickered rims, less Schwinn grips and re-angled the bottle opener so it doesn't spill my cider!

Looks great with the decals. Nice gimondi cranks too, I have some in my stash for a project

It's one of Brick Lane Bikes own stems. On sale it cost me £3 - about $5.
