wow I actually was just looking at that catalog on ebay this morning, what a coincidence. My next project is going to look similar to the mens bike pictured in it. Already have most of the parts in my garage.

As a CCM fan, I`ve looked through this many times and what always amazes me is how long things stayed the same. Some of those bikes are are nearly identical to bikes being sold 30 years later. My 1937 is basically the same, and they continued to make the same bike for years after that...

I think that's pretty darn cool. One weird thing though. On page 65, the "Lucky Tread" tires has swastika symbols on it.

Those are reversed swastikas and I think they are actually a Hindu symbol. Still weird that this would have been picked up at the time.

Yeah, interesting tires...I`d love to find a set! The swastika as a luck symbol was fairly common even in North America before the 2nd World War. You see it on buildings, decorative items, even kids toys. I`ve got a Chinese lacquered box with them carved all around the outside. It was no big deal until the Nazi`s corrupted it ...

I wasn't saying it was bad but it goes to show how something good can be completely turned around. In the community center in my reservation we have a very old blanket with swastikas on it. Either way, very cool catalog. Nice find.

Absolutely. A lot of First Nations used the symbol, but especially the Navajo...
