Whats the best breaker for the money? Im looking to spend around $20 on one

I have the Park CT-3, I had a Walmart one that broke on the second chain, so I traded it for another which eventually broke too, but not only the breaking, they are hard to use. My friend bought one for the shop for $10 from the LBS that closed, it was a generic one and it worked better, but when I got the CT-3 I will never use another unless of an emergency.

The CT-3 is smooth and easy on all chains.

I still use a screwdriver and hammer, then vice grips to put it back together. Has served me well for 20 years. I eventually want to get a park tool pliar type but trying to convince myself to spend the $70 on one.

I was rather happy with that one Id say I broke over 50 chains with it, If I could find another Id get it. but havent found anyone that sells bike hand tools

Park CT-3. Great tool and they have replaceable pins. I have bent 2 pins on old, bad rusty chains. Thats pretty good considering it's pressed out close to a hundred pins. Now I use an angle grinder if the chain is too rusty.

Cyclo Rivoli with spare punch. Orginal basic model - 3 in 1 chain tool, extracts rivets and sets, eliminates tight links.Bought at LBS in 1960, $3.50 hand written on box. Still using the original case hardened punch. To my amazement these are still being made and sold.Works for 3/32" and 1/8" chain. Made in England.

Just did a Google search, these can be bought for $10-$15 new, quite a price increase since 1960.

Really at that price, if they are still making them like they made yours then this should be a great tool.

I sell a similar chain breaker on ebay. I remove and install hundreds of chains a year and have never broken one. Many of my chains have been rusty and still works like a champ. I started selling them about 6 years ago after breaking the one wal mart sells on the first chain. :D

What Park model is that that fits Skip-Tooth? ...Because the one I bought doesn't. :(

I think I went through 3 or 4 of those walmart chain breakers before I got smart and spent a little money on this park breaker.
Spending some money on good tools is worth it.
