What is the cheapest source for new cruiser wheels? I keep coming up short on wheels for projects. I have a few frames I want to build and sell on craigslist, but I can't find new coaster wheels. Where can I buy them dirt cheap? Even Ebay is too expensive at $100 shipped per pair.

Help?

Looks like it would be $16.00 to ship to you slacker, not bad at all! Most places want big $ to ship even just a bare rim, doesn't weigh anything, why's it so expensive? I've been gouged a couple of times on rims, makes me shy away anymore.

you can get basic chrome wheels at bike shops around me all day long for $29.99 for a coaster rear and $19.99 for a matching front wheel. Nothing too fancy, but if you plan on flipping it, they should work great.

They are vrey similar to the one's Bigjon posted

Yep, thrift stores have an abundance of walmart mountain bikes, all 26 inch wheels, some never ridden, just rusty. They are asking 35-50 bucks nowadays, but I also pick up wheels and bikes at yard sales cheaper. I just got a 7 speed beach cruiser for 7 bucks, needing a little work. I always ask if they have any bike parts when I'm at yard sales, and sometimes get a broken bike with tons of good parts, including wheels.

One speed rear wheels are tougher to find, usually on old beach cruisers.

I need to move to your neighborhood. The lowest quote locally is $100. Probably for the same generic wheel.

I'm surprised your lbs doesn't have inexpensive wheels. My shop will go in basement or out back to dig up mismatched new cruiser wheels for me and sell them for about $20 for a rear, and $15 for a front.
