****Final update, we have a winner!****
index.php

Congratulations German Monarrez on winning the Chicago Tail Draggers 2017 raffle bike!

Thanks to the people that donated parts, to the labor involved to get it to where it is, to everyone that took a chance on buying a ticket or 45 of them. You know who you are and we couldn't do this without you.

Along with raised $1434 to donate to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation!

****Update edit, bike is nearly done!!!!****
Huge huge huge thank you to all who dontated to our raffle bike build! We couldn't have done it without you. This just proves that we have one heck of a great bike community. The bike is nearly done. I had a hiccup with the pleated tank but that will be taken care of by capable hands (another bike guy). The bike is coming out just awesome we premiered it yesterday and tickets are now on sale and we did a awesome amount of sales as well. I will have a ad up for online ticket sales either today or tomorrow. But here's the nearly finished product it showcases many good people's big hearts and talents. I have a list I will post of people who helped when I post the ticket sales and those that helped will be rewarded with a ticket / tickets to show our appreciation of your support.

Now the bike -

Original post-

So this will be the second bike we will raffle off next year at our show in Chicago. This year we raffled off a custom built Elgin moto balloon bike and raised $1200 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund! @SlyRed built that bike and we helped sell tickets. This year in order to reduce money spent and maximize donation we are doing the bike as a group effort and looking for parts donations. The frame, seat post, and a yellow band kickback hub donated by @us56456712. @SlyRed will be donating wheel assemblies to the project.

Saturday I added a seat which I will be recovering and the guts will be powder coated by @XC204 along with the frame/fork, wheels, and other misc parts. Also added a fork that @SlyRed donated

Then I took the bike to @Pookie42 and we tried some fenders which weren't to be, they wouldn't work.

But the stem and kickstand will work.

I also recieved the bars and tires from @Smoopy's and will have to get a pic of them to post.

Again thank you to everyone donating parts, your help is greatly appreciated.

Looking good so far.

Looks like some work has been done to the drive side seat and chain stays. It's a beautiful bike. Did anyone attempt to rebuild the yellow band kick back?

Yeah the dents were filled in by welding over them and grinded then filed down, multiple times.

And yeah the kickback wasn't used, a new Sturmey Archer 3spd was donated and laced in by @SlyRed

That may work as well
This could give you more time to find someone who could rebuild it. I think it would add a whole new dimension to a raffle bike. It would give you lots of bike types to explore. Just think if you had a full sized vintage folder frame. Put luggage racks on it and you would have a 2 speed cruiser for the camp ground. No cables and almost nothing could go wrong with it to mess up your camping vacation, except a flat. This could be a bike you put in the back of your truck topper after you jammed in all your camping gear. I don't even know if they made a full sized folder other than military bikes. Lots of places to go besides the usual with a kickback. Nothing against the usual either.
