hey all! I have been a member for quite a while but not super active since I'm more of a vintage BMX guy. Wellll nothing like a build off to bring me in!! Here is my recently acquired 1938 Elgin built Sears Collegiate. Gonna go a bit resto with some custom mixed in for good measure.

Welcome aboard! Great to have some new blood in the build off. Love that curved seat tube on that frame. RaT oN!
 
Can't go wrong with a curved bar frame.
 
I like that patina a lot, and my recommendation would still be boiled linseed oil over clear coat. My 1941 Colson Scout as an example. Before

After, just remember if you do this. A little oil goes a long way and it helps to clean the frame with 0000 grit steel wool and WD-40 before applying the oil.
