Clear coat over primer?

When you use primer as a finish, would you also apply a satin clear coat for added protection against grease and the elements? I like the flat look of dust/red or gray primer but also want it to be durable enough against greasy fingers prints. :|

I used a flat camouflage paint on this bike and then went over it with clear for the reasons you stated. It may have changed the look of the paint a little but not drastically.
