Got this from a fellow forum member and started on it the day it got here. I wanted to have a period-looking bike but I gues it's going to be more of a Resto-mod (a restoration with modifications).

this is a pic of it from one of the previous owners before it was parted out.

as I received it (minus wheels and tires).

installed a 42mm wide wheel set I got through JB Importers with a custom (weird) coaster brake rear wheel).

Got the chainguard on Feebay and had to do some brazing when it arrived and got most of it stripped and ready for a aged paintjob.

I think the fenders came off of a Wetsern Flyer X-53 Super or a similar Mercury.

add some wald wacky bars......

awesome matching with the guards,Its something I am just starting to get into,my "poison ivy" bike was the first I did to make it look older(plus the color was not talking to me as it was)I have a new project coming up with mismatched parts so will have a go then, but digging your build

Is that not one of the sturdiest frames you ever seen?? That thing is a heavy weight in ballonet clothes!

The Colson is looking good. What is the process to match that paint? What color and brand of paint are you using?
