Can anyone tell me what the seat post size for a prewar colson looptail bicycle? It has a shim. Any help is apprecated

I would say 3/4 x 3/8. I had slowriderz make me one for my 53 Colson looptail, it has a shim in it as well. probably the same thing 13/16 x 3/4 shim.

I don't know if you've had Chad "slowriderz" make you a post, but I highly recommend one. He's sharp, he'll make you whatever you need or want. And I'm glad to be of help to you.
I have not, but I was looking at his post last night and that's the route Im probably going to take. I'll take some measurements just to double check.

Why thank you Sir! In case you didn't know, I acquired it from some guy who has an over abundance of bikes. I can't remember his username.....:39: LOL! Whatcha think of the apes? I had them laying around, so I slapped them on for fun.

You had another one? Any pictures of it? Thanks CeeBee, I just had the apes laying around and put them on for fun. "Wow! Not bad!" I kinda really like this! Heck I'll leave'n on. Ha! Ha!

Lucky you. I have a Western Flyer badged Huffman, 37/38 don't know witch year. I need a prewar saddle for it, patina is good. I don't have much prewar anything so I'm kinda on the lookout for one. I don't need a super early version of one with the wire rails.

This the colson I own just picked up the bare frame and sproket off the cabe a couple weeks ago. This isn't the exact correct fork but it will work

Thanks man, yeah for sure, I'll probably start a build thread. I've wanted one of these loop tails for awhile, one of my favorite frames.

They are neat, you don't see a lot of them around. I was lucky enough to get mine from CeeBee a while back, not sorry I did, I absolutely Love the patina on it. The only things I added were, wedge headlight, truss rods, rear rubber Colson reflector, layback seatpost, red leather seat, red Thompson grips, and last but not least, Ape Hangers.
