Heart sinks a lil bit when you see carton damage.

Apears to be in one piece.

Some smalls could have fallen out of the huge Crack in the box. Also, the top had been opened the taped shut. Perhaps to check for damage.

I will post more unpacking and assembly progression photos. So far so good!

So far this bike seems to have nice quality parts for the price. It was $240.- shipped. It is what it is. However it's pretty heavy at 53 lbs. The sheet metal in the tank feels thicker than what I remember hearing of the previous years 1937 repop. Fenders and stays feel as typical as any other. The paint looks of a decent quality. The blue and base white on the fenders and paint guard is paint. Everything else is a sticker. Pinstripes, diamonds, logos, the entire logo and white body on tank all feel too thick for decals, all stickers. Parts is parts! You all are going to enjoy finding these on CL. I need to delve deeper into a few things like the 3 piece crank and hubs. Rims appear to be aluminum, tires are generic, but decent quality. The rear rack feels solid, but I don't think it would support a passenger. Would be interesting to remove all the stickers and have it pin striped. A good striper should have his way with this.

Interesting, would like to see a pic of the whole bike ?

You will in due time. Dry run assembly is under way. No rush. Its been cold and rainy out. I will take it apart again and re-assemble. Until happy with the way it goes together.

Very nice, thank you for sharing, I did not kno theyve done a springer version, I do not think you can buy a better looking new bike with old style for that kind of monies .

Columbia has come out with new retro style tank models in time for Christmas. There is a thread around here somewhere. The last run was just a his and hers model sold exclusively via walmart. Reviews were not as favorable.

Is the bottom bracket the standard "cruiser" size with a press in square taper adapter, or is the bottom bracket the smaller threaded ISO size like a road bike? I haven't been able to see one in person, which is why I ask.

I built a 1952 at work today. It had a 3 piece crank similar to a road/mt bike
