I briefly mentioned the deal I got on this 26" wheelset in another thread and they arrived today. They are pretty different from anything else I have seen. I can't figure out what these would have come off of, so maybe they were custom built?
-Sturmey Archer AW 3-speed hub
-Cyclo 3-speed adapter (making it a 9-speed wheel)
-Heavy duty spokes
-Old school Araya MTB/BMX 2.125" steel rims
-Carlisle tires
-Also came with derailleur, shifters, cables, and chain
These were not used much, the rear tire and rim have a very small amount of wear and surface rust and the front is pretty mint. Maybe someone tried to build the ultimate Klunker?
I really like them... but they are going in storage until I get through my current projects.
