I thought it would be fun to share some of our CL search tips. Only rule? You can't use these tips if you live near me. I know who you are.

Search for bikes in the bike category almost exclusively? Bad idea.

Ever use the search box on the front page of your local CL? You know, the one that gives you results from every category? Occasionally I use that search box and the word "Schwinn" or "bicycle" or similar generic terms. Why would I want to do that? Wouldn't that give me too many results?

Yes, it gives you tons of results. But for this search, I'm mostly only interested in one type. The bikes not listed in the bike category! By scrolling down the category column of the search results, I can quickly see which bikes were placed in "antiques", "free", "sporting", "general" and so on.

These bikes are often missed by others. Especially if they are listed in odd places like "farm and garden."

It also shows what you've looked at recently. And it looks like besides real estate, for sale, etc, Ole Slacker was checkin' out casual encounters too!
Hey, ya gotta get out there, however you go about it. Still funny thou... :D

Me to wife in near future: "Honestly Honey, I'm only in the "Women4Men" section because my RRB friends said if I look at the pics closely enough I might be able to find a bike in the background!"
