Hi all, i am a newbie on this site.
I was hoping someone could help or provide some advice. I found a cruiser bike on ebay i want in the States, however the seller does not want to ship and is only providing pickup as an option. I live in toronto and the bike is in Ohio.
Is there any issue picking this up and crossing through customs. Will there be duty taxes etc.

Or is there a better option? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

i beleive you need a passport now, but thats about all i know. thanks to terrorists, everything has changed since i used to go up twice a week.

Thanks rob, do you think it will be an issue coming across the boarder with the bike.

No issues at all. Just make sure you have a copy of your ebay transaction to show them and all you pay is our tax on the bike. I've done it tons of times and never had a problem. Just pay the tax man :( :x

Heck no! I've flogged rust across the border numerous times with no issues at all. Once in a while you get some hot-shot border guy, but most of them don't know what's scrap, and what just needs some attention. Plus the trip adds to the story and the awesomeness of the bike. Nothing like doing a 14hour turn and burn with cuts, dirt and grime for that awesome bike we just can't get up here in Ontary-rary-oh!. Yanked 4 bikes home this past October without so much as a second glance. Done this 4 times now, no tax, just 48 cheap tallboys from duty-free  I live in Burlington and work in Toronto. Cheers.
