just make it ridable and then its the most bestest girl rat rod ever i would ride it everywhere since only bike people would care about it so it wouldnt get stolen

i am sorry to inform all of you, but the crusty lady died tonight at the hands of a roto-zip. she was cut up pretty good, but her spirit will live on! for she was an organ donor, and her parts will go toward other projects.

too far gone to save?

yeah, the handlebars were rusted through, i actually pulled the stem in half by hand with a big chunk stuck in the fork, i had to cut the seat binder bolt off. i did save the rims, seat/post and most of the drivetrain though.

what about that chain? those are the first to go bad.

havent gotten to the chain yet. its been soaking for a while to try to loosen things up. any hints on taking apart the master link?

you have to bend the chain to squeeze the pins together, then pull off the top plate with some needle nose pliers. :) typical master link removal.

thats what i figured. hopefully everything loosened up somewhat and i'll be able to pop it off.
