This was my first electric project. It began about a year and a half ago when I found myself temporarily in need of a mobility scooter. Not wanting to buy a commercial, heavy, run of the mill unit, I decided to build my own. I started with a Razor drift trike. I modified the forks to accept a hub motor (dropouts), fabricated an adjustable seat post, added foot rests and installed a 500 watt/36 volt electric package. The drift trike rear wheels were to noisy and rough riding so I replaced them with pneumatic s. I finished it off with a dark brown base coat and Roth Oddball Orange metal flake. It finished out at under 50 lbs. and fit in the back of my SUV. Mission accomplished.
