Long story short: I've grafted the front of a OCC type stingray onto the back half of an old Columbia trike. I'm fishing for ideas on how to get the chain line fixed. The uber wide Stingray bottom bracket is too wide for the trike three speed hub and axle set up. My current option is to off-set the three speed hub and then use a spacer of some kind to move the axle sprocket in line with the three speed hub.

My first idea was to cut down the width of the bottom bracket but I can't find someone with the ability to re-thread the bottom bracket once it's cut.

So... any ideas that I haven't thought of?

If possible, maybe take a pic from the rear with the point of view being from just behind the rear drive assembly, to better show how much the difference is for the chainline. Also, if it is a solid axle running through the hub, then the piece that the hub gear engages might be easily moved along the length of the axle. Sometimes these are only held to the axle by a series of set screws or similar.

It's about an inch. I compared the Columbia bottom bracket and the Stringray BB and the difference is about 2 inches total, so an inch offset should be about right.

I keep thinking about cutting the Stingray bottom bracket off and putting a narrower one on. I haven't figured out how I would keep that square though.
