My Daughter recently asked for a bike so she would have something to ride with the Grandkids. I gave her a choice of the girls frames I had and she chose this Monark El Camino.

That's gonna be sweet Randy.

As always...I'm sure the quality will be excellent.

Keep us posted on the build.

A custom seat would be nice but... if anyone's getting a custom seat it'll be me  . Plus I'm trying to do this first bike for her on the cheap.

Sandblasted the bike the other night and painting it today. It's a satin periwinkle color.

The bike is mostly done. Working on a few details now that may take a while.
The color looks nothing like the cap of the can. We like it none the less.

By the looks of the bracket the bike originally had peaked fenders which I didn't have. Drilled 2 holes in this standard fender to mount it.

Randy, Quit teasing us. Post a pic of the whole bike. I like your attention to detail. The pedals are perfect. This will be a very fun and whimsical ride for your daughter.

Thanks guys.
Right now I'm waiting on her to do something with the chainguard. She was talking painting flowers on it so we'll see how that goes. I may end up having to strip and repaint the chainguard if that doesn't work out.

My Daughter painted the chain guard. The flowers on the basket are old costume jewelry we got at an antique store. The flower on the rear fender bracket is a drawer knob/pull. Flowers on the tank are some kind of decoration that go on shoes.
