Stripped down and headed to my painter. Finally going to get a real paint job as opposed to a rattle can or bare metal finish. Spokes came in, got some time off for the holiday, might even get the odd hub laced in.
Carl.
I see what you did there...Wow! Your build is really getting amped up.
Real boy's Spaceliners are chrome, or red, but not black chrome. That frame looks great, I'd be tempted to clear it. Looking forward to some SHINY.
Great patina!
I can see why!
Me too! It's a bit brighter on the other side. I see a little work to do here. should try to flatten out the warped book rack. It's heavy stock, you can tell someone sat on it often. The chain needs a pair of links added to center the wheel in the fender and there's too much chrome on the front wheel. I've got a lot of stuff around here though, I'm pretty sure I can put a nice wheel set together that matches the patina. Same with that black crank, it's gotta go. Still, I was just tinkering in the garage last night for an hour or so. Too hot to do much it was a hundred earlier yesterday and there was air conditioning calling my name ten yards away. But we got it for a steal and until my Spaceliner frame gets back from the painter DEAD SPACE is dead in the water, so I have time and no deadline for this one.I love the way the word "Monark" peeks out through the crust on that tank.
It's an odd little hub with two sizes of flanges and the same spoke length on each side. Somebody did some math to figure that out cuz the flange holes don't line up like a symmetrical hub does.
GC
Haha! I just feel good that I laced it without instructions and only one false start. Did I mention heavy gauge spokes and drilling out the hub? Waiting on rim strips to arrive. (and my painted frame)
Thanks man, the rusty one is just my side build...WOWZERS!! GTB!! PEACE
