The editor of the magazine 'MOPED' in Stockholm Sweden tracked me down through @Rat Rod back in August after the close of RRB build off 11. He explained that the magazine's focus is (obviously) geared mainly toward motorized bikes, but the Decoluxe blew him away and he wanted to include it in an upcoming issue! After some discussion via email, I sent him some photos and put it out of my thoughts until today.

I received a couple of the issues in the mail today but I haven't tried to translated the Swedish copy yet to see what he wrote. I'm assuming that it is about the build off because the caption on the photo translates to "The winning bike. An artwork of a very own kind."

I'm only supposed they didn't also add his Higgins moto being a moped mag... Maybe even more impressive that it's only your peddle power builds In a moped mag...
Salute. Glad see the end result from our first mock ups and carvings... Killer. Better than expected and alot was expected!!!

Thanks for the props everyone!
For anyone interested in reading the article in English, I received a follow-up email yesterday from the editor with this translation included.

A rough translation would be:

"Max attack with Jim Henderson

Bikes and bike builds gets higher and higher regognition. Not very surprisingly, USA paves the way. Central point is the site ratrodbikes.com where projects unfolds in beefy forum threads. Here you can find lots of fun and creative stuff. Every year a build off competition is held, where the most skilled creators fight for honour and appreciation.
This year graphic designer and multi artist Jim Henderson won. His Elgin Decoluxe i masterly made by pieces of scrap and flea market finds and it would very much could be mistaken for a dream bike protototype of the 1930s, as it could have been found in the estate of a unsung hero designers derelict shed.
Jims eye for lines, proportions and details i clearly shown in his impressive build thread at www.ratrodbikes.com etc.
Due to the big interest in used streamline frames the less visually appealing, but also often less worn, female frames too often gets sacrified in the search for spare parts. These frames also comes much cheaper. Jim saw this coming and gave it an extra thought, now producing an upper frame part or ”speaceliner tank” i fibre glass which transforms the female frames into a male models. Class craftmanship: www.ratrodbikes etc”
