Beer bike is taking shape nicely! I see your frame (like mine) would accommodate a rear drop stand. Any thought to adding one of those for extra 'cargo' support when loading / unloading?

Rear drop stand. Yes, I would love to have one to go on the bike, in place of the side kickstand they put on it that won't be going back on it. I may even make another attempt at making one. Will definitely need the 'cargo support' while I am loading it up.

I like the rusty metal patina as well. Very little left of the dark red that was sanded on before the house paint. I kinda broke the rust seal by removing the house paint. So in order to make it solid for another 80 years, I decided it will probably need some unique color hard paint, then some flat matte on top.

Maybe even a 1200grit wet sand down, then polish off with some rubbing compound to give it a 50 year old shine look.

Started by adding a layer

Smoothed it out.

Then widened the tabs to fit, and added a layer to thicken it up a hair

It almost fit, except the tab broke off.

Still high on front anyhow. Still more work to do to fit it.

A bit of an update. Can't figure out how to make the content flow with tapatalk...

Anyhow, I Made a tab and brazed it on...

Then I drilled so it would sit square. New tab is a little bigger. The extra metal won't be noticeable on on the bike.

Still flows down, but the slant is growing on me. When I get fenders fitted will see how it looks.

A bit bright. Still shiny, Matt clear in a few. Still working fenders before painting frame.

Nice job on the blackout. They have a very old school look without that bright red and orange logo. And the white rims really make them stand out!
