A guy I know has several neat old bikes that he is about to sell and one of them was this Sting-Ray.

I told him I would detail it for him so he could get the most out of it.

I think it turned out pretty nice. You locals probably saw it on the CL already.

Dude, no doubt about it, you are the master of detailing. I can't even get new stuff to shine like that!

Ha Ha...well, let's just say I have a neatness issue.

I used to detail cars on the side several years ago so my techniques just carried over from that.

Do you disassemble the bikes when you detail....Wheels off? chainguard off?

On these I didn't really have to.

They were mainly just grungy with some light peppering here and there.

I wash them, then use a cleaner wax on the paint followed by top coat wax.

After that I detail the chrome with the usual stuff.

I also use some Mother's Plastic Polish for banana seats, grips, reflectors, etc.

very nice ray what year is that about a 75 or so? looks a lot like the 76 5 spd i had that was blue.

From the code on the headbadge it appears to be a 78 model....although, I could not find one in the catalog for that year.

I get about 3 hours of sleep a night. Its killing me.
