Hey guys,
It is almost here. The Detroit Autorama custom Bike Show. This will be the 14th Autorama Bicycle Show hosted by Debbie and Don of Al Petri Bicycles. The show has gone through major changes throught the years. Starting as Lowrider shows, It has evolved into Resto, Kustom, Rat, Chopper, Freak, etc. Anything kool with pedals. Stop by Detroit's Cobo Hall on March 6, 7, or 8th and check out the boss motown rides. 60 bikes strong this year will be the best yet.
peace,
Bicycledon and his lovely wife Debbie

Here are a couple that I got yesterday. There were so many cool bikes, these were the shots that turned out the best/didn't have a person walking into the shot...

Here are some of my pictures. I will post car and motorcycle pictures in "the other talk". It was great to finally meet nogoodnick, giggles and chainsaw. I wish I had more time to talk but, I was with a small group and didn't want to hold them up. Hopefully we can talk more at the Freakbike ride on Belle isle or at Saline. Lots of restored BMX bikes this year. I took a picture of giggles new ride but, she said that she has not posted any pictures so, I thought I would leave the unveiling to her. Great looking bike by the way.

This bike was way nicer than it was new. Great paint and show chrome. The bike originally owned by his father.

Hi,
That tandem was called Daisy Daisy. A huffy tandem done in mod style. I will have my pics up in a day or two for you all.

Wow! Great pics guys!

Thank you very much to Don and Deb for putting on another great show! It was really cool to see such a variation of all the bikes. It's just one more chunk of proof that the bike building hobby is a big ol' family!
From start to finish, there's always something cool going on in the bike area. But my favorite was when Don gave Gigs and I the privilege of building up the "Worst of Show" trophy! He gave us a slightly broken trophy, a can of spray bomb black, a small budget and our imaginations. Luckily we had some basic tools and fast food wrappers, along with a first aid kit!   Speed Cult came to our rescue with a big rusty Detroit "D" and some wiring. Dropping the trophy, scuffing it up against the wall and just plan breaking parts off, really brought this baby alive. A little well placed spraying, some more pavement and wire brushing and .... Yeah I like it! :D Ending with some Ketchup stained band aids, black tape and well placed MacDonalds and candy bar wrappers, made the "Worst" pop! Last but not least was the big rusty "D" and it was finished!

Sorry I didn't get a better picture of the trophy. :(

Here's a pic of Gigs bike ....

She was crunched for time, so the front didn't get raked out as needed and some other mods didn't get completed. She plans on doing the rest in the next few weeks. She'll keep ya posted. For those who would like to see her build thread ....

Thanks to all the guys that stopped by to B.S.with us and hope to see you guys soon! I'll be getting all my pictures posted in the next few days, so be ready!

This thread is a couple of years old.
You need to do more than just post that you need four spots. Bicycle Don very seldom gets on this board and the chance of him reading this particular thread is slim. If he does post any Autorama news on RRB it will probably be on the 2011 Autorama thread or he'll start a new one.

The dates for this year (2011) are Feb. 25, 26, 27
Here is a link to the forms and rules.

If you want to find out more call Don and Deb at Petris. Their number is on the forms.
Good luck.
