Disregarding the BFK Wal-Mart Stingrays, has Schwinn ever made a Stingray that was black in color? Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

"SUPPOSEDLY" they made a handful or two in the late 60's to test out if black would outsell the other colors, i think they were supposed to go to only the 2 biggest schwinn dealers. but like i said "SUPPOSEDLY" so it may very well be a ghost story. the schwinn typhoons came in black, and im sure it was possible to have the bike shop make you a black one (maybe after seeing a black fastback ?)

it sure was! as a kid i had a black typhoon, and for my birthday a year later we took it to the schwinn dealer & had it converted into a 'stingray'. shorty fenders, ape hangers, banana seat, and a cool sissy bar! good times.

Schwinn did make a couple of prototype Coal Crates once upon a time...I remember seeing one auctioned off on Ebay a year or so ago for several thousands of $$$...if I remember right it was found in near perfect
unridden condition in the attic or basement of a retired Schwinn dealer in Chicago by the man's son after his death...but don't quote me on that...I believe some museum ended up with it. 8)
