For those of you taking close up shots with your digital cameras, make sure to use the "macro" button.

close ups are from a couple inches away to maybe 18" away from the subject.

Im not complaining, but especially if someone is selling something, it pays to have a decent close up of whatever widget you are selling. blurry pics dont help anyone.

the macro button may be a switch you flip or a button to press or a dial to rotate, in all cases the icon (flower) for macro looks like this...

Good tip, and with most cameras, in macro mode and close in, don't try to zoom. Keep it at wide angle. If you need to zoom, get closer. Also, built-in camera flash usually does not work so well for close in work. Try to have good natural light on your subject. Move the subject out of shadows and into sunlight if you can.
