I am looking for information in a DIY front shock for a Fatbike. I was going to post this in the fatbike forum, but I think this is more of a general how too.

I have 2 options that I can see:

1. Build a linkage fork
2. Modify an existing for for the wider tire.

I have an old RST fork that has a removable arch/brace. I was thinking I can make a new bridge for it that will give me clearance for the wider tire. Then I would need to make a new crown for it, and get some longer metal tubing for the inner piston part of the fork. Im not real sure exactly how I would do this.

OR, I could just make a linkage type fork.

Im not overly concerned about weight, but I do want to save and $$$ I can, if possible.

And suggestions / positive advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Does anybody maybe have a link to someone who has done a DIY linkage fork on a mountain bike? I could adapt the idea to my application.
