does any one know what year this hawthore is? i'm sure this bike was pieced together a long time ago but would like to know if any one can tell what year or years this head badge was made. it says wards on top a big h in the middle and hawthorne on the bottem any info will help thanks.

ya it a laid back seat post. i'm looking for a tank for it. i want to paint it chevy orange and white with black rims. the hubs are black and not crome. i see it in my head that color. i'm going to go with crossbar handle bars for sure. ive been doing stretch dynos and lowrider bikes and bmxs all my life and now i just love the vintage cruisers from the 40's and 50's. i never finished the last two builds, but this one i'm going to keep. i'm looking to make it look like it's from the 40's but newer colors.

That style badge was used from 1936-42, and possibly 46-7. The catalog pages aren't very clear. Your bike has a Snyder/Rollfast style sprocket. They did build most Hawthornes, so it could be original, though most had a different one. Cool ride! ~Adam
