Any help with this one would be greatly appreciated as I'm really stuck as to the make or ballpark figure on the year. New departure hubs, other than that no serial numbers or writing. A friend of mine wants to sell it to me and I would like to give him a fair price for it, but knowing just what it is would be a good start. Cheers.

I may be wrong, but I think that is a very old Schwinn if the Sprocket is original. If you pull the crank you may find it being stamped and that would help you.

Was the bike Yellow and then painted Orange..?...If so maybe under the paint you might find some clues..

great bike! schwinn sounds right, but no tellin. i'll guess at mid 30's to mid 40's, but im out of my element pre50's. make a deal quick, get some tires on it, ride it and post some more picts.

Looks like the thoughts on it being a Schwinn nailed it. I found this photo of a '33-'34 Excelsior in an auction listing and it could be a match. Is this one missing the fenders or could it have come this way? I would like to add fenders if they would be correct for the bike. Cheers.

That era is the hardest to differentiate between makes, they're all very similar! But I think you nailed it w/that Excelsior. Note how the og 28" rims fit the frame unlike the balloon rims on the orange bike. I believe they were offered with or without fenders, the deluxe models would have had chainguards, rear racks, and tool box tanks. And don't forget the great big horn! That orange bike is cool though! ~Adam
