Ok so I'm driving down the street and I see this guy riding a bike, as I pass I see that it has a straight bar so I flip a U and pull over beside him. I say 'Hey I like your bike' he says 'If you want it, you can have it for $20 bucks. I had no money on me so he said he was just going up the street to a friends house and I could come back later and get it. So I hurried to the ATM then came back and bought the bike.

Ok the deal with this bike is that a Hospital in Tulsa donated these bikes to the river walk trail. These bikes are free to use but you have to side your credit card in and then the bike is released. You can ride them all day and then just return them to the bike stand. If the bike is not returned it charges your credit card the price of the bike.

Well this guy said his grandma rented the bike but forgot to return it and they charged her $100 for the bike. Anyways not sure if he is lying or not. Here is the bike:

Well I'm at the trail all the time its kinda hard to steal them unless he took it from somebody that had already rented it.

You can probably throw a grenade at the bike, the lock will come off, it might scratch the paint, nothing wrong with the frame though.

All sounds pretty shady to me...especially his eagerness to get rid of such a nice bike so quickly for so cheap.

I would have passed on that "deal."

+1 or take it back. The organization renting the bikes will be more than happy to have it back.

For $20 I would have taken the gamble on it too. If it is stolen, you'll do a good deed returning it to them (probably get a reward too) and that is worth $20 any day, If it's legit then you got a smoking deal and a nice ride. It's a win-win.

For $20 I would have taken the gamble on it too. If it is stolen, you'll do a good deed returning it to them (probably get a reward too) and that is worth $20 any day, If it's legit then you got a smoking deal and a nice ride. It's a win-win.

Thank you. I will check into it a little more with the Park Authority tomorrow. And If it turns out legit then HOT DAMN!
