I didn't like the idea of the stock sidepull brake eating away at the painted rim on my wife's new Wispy 3-speed, so I had the wheel relaced with a SA X-FD drum hub.

The fork has fat 1-1/4 legs so the clamp that came with the hub wouldn't work, so I came up with the idea of using a 2-piece BMX seatpost clamp, a longer bolt and a piece of stainless tubing from the hardward store. So far, so good.

dude, i like the set up....how does the bike brake now, smooth? i have a bearing brake set up on my dyno stretch, works great....

Thanks, I like those roller brakes too.

The SA seems to hall her down pretty smoothly and quickly.

I mostly went with the SA because I ordered another one for my klunker build -- only $45 new by mailorder:

sturmey have arm clip for roller brakes with various diameters

The largest one in the USA catalog is 7/8" or 22.2 mm. Are there others available somewhere?
