a friend of mine picked this dynomatic dyno for me today,u dont see many dynos around here,i guess the blue one is hard to find

Mine is in (mostly) original state, the tires on yours are from the later models.

Where does the "matic" part of the name come from? Is just a cool sounding name or is there some automatic functionality on board?

It stands for the models with the Shimano planetary hub on board.

i also have a mooneyes the has a 4 speed nexus with a computor,you can program it to shift early,late or manually,it was a proto-type set up,it was put together by dwight at nakomus cycles,they ended up i think offering it overseas,its called an atuo-d,reads wheel speed iff the rear wheel,goes to a modum by the crank housing,powered by a 9 volt battery,sends the info to the handlebar computor.
