At the local Poppin Johnies show and swap meet I found this old spotlight, destined to end up on rat rod bike. I need to test bulb. It may have been an early motorcycle piece. A few on eBay for much more than what I paid.

From one offered up on eBay: "This is a 1920's windshield frame mounted spotlight. This was an aftermarket style that was used on the Ford Model T, Harley Davidson and Indian motorcycles and a variety of other motorcycles, cars and trucks".

Sounds like it might have been something sold in the Sears & Roebuck catalog?

Yes in looking thru my Sears Elgin reprint catalog pages it appears to show the same or similar light assembly.

Beautiful light! Love that domed glass and the thin profile. That's the kind of accessory a whole bike could be designed around.
