Early 1960's JC Higgins bike, need help to detrmine year and model

So, on the bottom of the frame it shows these numbers:

I know it is JC Higgins because while lightly steel wooling the rust of seen the remnants of the logo on the chain guard

Murray Ohio built. Can't pinpoint the year myself, but early 60s seems right.

It's a Murray built Higgins middleweight. I would have thought 1960s as well, but according to this serial number thread on the CABE ( http://thecabe.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?7014-Murray-serial-number-project ), it looks like it's a 1956. The chainguard has more of a 50s Higgins look too.

It's a lightly stamped 'MOD 502'. 4570 is the Sears catalog # for a 1960 model, with regular handlebars, and a front fender light. It was a step up from the bare bones model. -Adam

mystery solved, it is a 1960 Sears bike, made by JC Higgins
