Hi !
Here is an ease way to modify a regular shifter into a stylish shifter ..
Note:(mine is horizontal to have the look of a automatic 40s style shifter , but it can work in all angles)
Just start with any regular lever shifter like this (they are pretty much all the same)

- remove the rubber part at the end
- find a chrome piece of pipe that don't quite fit over the end but is very close
-hammer the pipe into a square"or the shape of the lever" and grind or file the lever a litle bit at the time untill you can hammer the pipe on to it "very snug" so you don't have to drill and screw it in place
-find or make some sort of handle/knob for the end of it
-then make a little arrow in thin sheet metal "painted red" and fasten it on the lever/pipe (mine have screw on the lever that i used for this)
-the cut a circle in anything (mine is plastic jar top) and paint it or add a sticker like i did so you have a good font to add the speed notches/numbers
and it should look like this ..or better..or not :p

ill instal this cadilac shifter on my trike moon bars soon :p can't wait to finish it :!:
