My entry for this year will be the first motorized build i've ever attempted...
I have a frame that needs to be modified for the engine and a tank and an engine

The engine is a sachs spartamet engine

I dont like the rear wheel so i'm gonna modify it so it will be chain driven on the right side and pedal powered on the left and i want to use this hub to achieve it
2ba483edda3a3f60482dce3271e62a8c.jpg

And yes it has a fat axle and a 48 hole hub but i'll tackle that problem when its there haha[emoji28]

Well and the name just popped in my head and i thought it sounded cool[emoji41]
Also thought about the name lawbreaker because its required by law here in the Netherlands to have papers and a license plate and it has te be approved by the government and i dont think it will be...

Frank

Yes they need some tlc [emoji5]
I changed my game planand now i want to use a double chain on the right side with a locked sprocket for the engine and a freewheel for pedaling

I also have some alloy rims but i forgot to take a pic. . Sorry bout that haha

Thanks for looking!

And btw... is it just me or is it really hard to keep up with all the builds..

Got the hubs out of the wheels today and started strippin and cleaning the engine

I hope i can polish the hubs so they will shine a bit harder..

Found out i'll have to shorten the drive axle thingy because its too far out..
Should i cut it in half and reweld it?
Would that be strong enough?

It is only a 30 cc engine and the carb is really small i think they use the same ones on those little remote controlled cars haha[emoji38]

I also found a aircleaner in a junkbox so thats pretty cool!

I also decided that i'm gonna paint it red with white tanksides ( not sure thats english haha) i hope you understand what i mean
And the rims are gonna be red too

And for the handle bars something like this

Some cool horns on the front

Thanx for watching

Nice bars!

Luke.
Thanks but this are not the bars im using because they are too big, i think they have a diameter of 25 mm and my controls are 22 mm but this is the style i want.

Shortened the drive part of the engine to get the chain closer to the engine but i also need to shorten the axle, that i'll do tommorrow when i weld it at my work

This is what i'm trying to achieve on the hub, a dual cog/chain setup.

The inner cog has to be as thin as possible without losing to much strenght and then a adapter to a freewheel for the pedaling part.

And now a beer[emoji3]

very cool ideas you got there, good to see another motorized bike in the mix:thumbsup: I picked up one of those sachs drum brake hubs when I went back to Amsterdam for Christmas, really cool little brakes. Mazzel!

How is your build coming along?

How is your build coming along?
Well funny that you asked just....

I was looking at the calender this morning and thought wow 15th of june!
Time to get busy!
So i started working on my frame this morning...
I didnt liked the way the tank sits on the frame
0d88bec2b98a05c3b90165313b675c9a.jpg

So i started cutting the top half of the uppertube
0acd920755570af3a9f9217e4834ff28.jpg

9cf70bae8572bbe5435a80a6d1affb9c.jpg

Well that wasnt enough so i decided to remove the handle bars and well... it was rusted inside the fork tube[emoji20]
No time to think it over, just cut it haha
5732bf94fa3ef0fff5443f2f7a22cd50.jpg

Then i tried if it was sitting the way i wanted it to but it wasn't quite there yet so i cut some more i guess
42a26246be0e7a7b3264788a0f35ff9f.jpg

The tank was hitting the frame so time to clean it up

Much cleaner this way! How i'll mount it eeeh dont know yet but i'll cross that bridge when i get there!

Well it still wasnt low enough so i changed the plan and cut the whole toptube and went with a straight pipe
1b0a5eb6b4f87a816657cf48be299b73.jpg

Now it was so low the tank hit the lower frame thingy tube so i cut them to!
1ec0ae60d92cb7bd725c4ba12f04c170.jpg

What to do with them...

Yeah flip em!
e5ab71c5b4865ff7529957eeacd80c43.jpg

Then i welded it al up and i didnt take a pic with the tank on but i'll do that tomorrow!
I also clean up the welds tomorrow at work

Now... A beer![emoji28]
Paint will be coming in this week so then i cant paint my rims and lace my wheels!

Thanks for watching and i'll need to keep it in high gear or else i wont be ready in time!

Frank

Oh before i forget! Still need to fit the engine, build an exhaust, build a fork, get myself a headlight and convert it to led, run all the cables for braking, lighting, prep it for paint... pff better GTB!

Glad you haven't been nodding off. Nice progress for the halfway point.
