this is my electra rally 1 that i just finished a complete redo on. I had it blasted, powder coated then hand pinstriped.....i also took it from a 1 speed to an internal 3 speed. It got all new badges, grips, bells, hub shiners, valve stem caps, and thick brick tires! Love how it turned out, especially the striping.

heres what it looked like when i started....

now it looks like this all finished...

That's a sick Rally Cox.. I see you paid a lot of attention to detail.. the seat clamp and seat springs.. powercoated?

thanks, i appreciate the kind words. The rally was lot of work and kind of a project that evolved as more and more ideas came. the seat clamp and undercarriage of the seat are powder coated, yes. i wasnt too sure about it, but i kinda like the look....besides if i ever want to change the seat, thats an easy fix.

Hello All, Nice to see the Electra collection here! I've been wanting one for a while, and it's been tough to choose, however my decision was made for me at a closeout sale at a local bicycle shop... We're going to miss them, as they were great to deal with on my wife's Amsterdam last year. Anyway, This was one that I had been liking on my short list so I suppose it was destiny.

Picture taken morning after the ride home form the shop. The shop had not installed the fork truss, so I installed it the next day. I have since removed the reflectors, added a custom silver painted 2.5" round reflector that threads on to the seat post bolt for a cleaner look. I have ordered a bullet head light, cylindrical bag, and chrome silver chain. We'll see how that turns out.

What I find is so much fun about these bikes is it reminds me of the freedom of cycling as a young tad. I road bike cycle with my club, and I was reminded of the pure joys and freedom of riding a bike with this Deluxe.... I just hopped on it with flip flops, shots , t shirt, backwards baseball cap, camera slung over my shoulder.. I was free! Free form my Look/Sidi's, Assos shorts and cycling jersey, Giro Helmet and all the other crap I need to ride. Don;t get me wrong, I still love that, but man, this is pure freedom!

Hey Wristpin! For sure, I'm in Saskatoon! I suppose the Broadway Roastery gave it up.... Bummer about 2Nature Sports, but I was able to get this Deluxe! What is that in your Avatar you are riding? It looks sweet!

Yeah, thanks for the site link.. I've been checking them out since last year, and on Saturday I ordered a bullet light and a chrome silver chain. It arrived today, so I installed it all. I still would be interested in a LED conversion, but then again, maybe not as the old incandescent is more suited for the look of the bike. I thought the higher output LED may give it a more modern-retro look.

Here are some pictures I took today

dsc1341x.jpg

The Bullet Headlight installed. I had a problem with the internal switch illuminating both bulbs. It was not working right, so in the end I soldered a wire to both so they both are on when powered up.

This is a reflector i had sitting around so I painted it silver. I didn't like the black plastic band that mounted the stock unit, so this on I used a longer seat bolt, and just threaded it on to that.

dsc1349a.jpg

Here is another shot of it. I ordered a Black Burn Mars 3.0 Tail light, that I think may look funky enough to fit in with the bike. If not, I'll just add it to my ever expanding collection of lights LOL

Head On look at the light

My new chrome silver chain, I had to order 2 of them... I used 1 and 6 links of the other. I like the looks of it!

Testing at night

dsc1460e.jpg

I strapped a Turtle light to the seat which actually doesn't look too out of place

dsc1464.jpg

The black cylindrical saddle back shot finish it off.... One thing that is driving me nuts is the squeaky saddle of this bike.... I was thinking of greasing the springs or something

Tame stuff I know, but I'm a noob

Just an FYI, all Electra spring saddles do that at first. They usually get less noisy with time and use.
The odd thing is that most of the noise comes from the hidden springs in the saddle lid itself, so oiling the large ones does little to help.

Okay, thanks! It actually seems to be getting more sqeaky the more I ride it. It was silent when I first rode it home. I'll give it a bit more time. Last night I was looking at maybe a Brooks saddle due to the noise, but I'm not sure it may be wide enough to look right.
