i noticed the vince, indy, punk, flying sue and the blue cruiser deluxe (the one with the rack) arent on the Electra page anymore. I knew they had a recall on the delivery bikes and the townie "holiday" too, would of loved to have any one of those bikes !!! hope this isnt a trend :|

maybe theyve just stopped production to pull something new out for the 2011 models though ... fingers crossed

P.S. glad the Relic stuck around though, love that bike !!!

anybody heard any buzz ???

Wow...I hope they're replacing them with something new. They've got a billion ladies' models including a few new ones for 2010. Nothing new for guys and now this. I was in the LBS last week and asked him when he was ordering his new batch of Electras. He said probably in the next couple weeks and if I had any suggestions to let him know. I told him to order in a Vince because I might be tempted to buy if I had to drive by it every day. I'll have to stop back in and ask him about the "missing" guys cruisers and see if he knows anything.

I was in Sports Chalet of all places today and they actually carry Electras. Not only that, but they have a freakin' great price on the Flying Sue 3i and Punk 3i. They are both $399 each brand new if you can believe it. They also had a ladies Hawaii 1speed 24inch for $199. I was in the Point Loma store in San Diego, Ca and when I went home and checked their website, the prices are all different for some reason. I asked the clerk and he said the Flying Sue and Punk are indeed $399 each.
I bought a new Electra Vince one month ago at Holland's Bike Shop in Coronado, Ca (also in San Diego) for $480 plus tax. It's on sale because it's not in production any more. I think they have a couple more.
$400 for the Flying Sue or Punk can't be beat though...

I sent an e-mail off to Electra today asking if they dropped these bikes from their lineup. Here is the reply.

Hello Casey,
Thank you for your interest in Electra Bicycles. Yes, these four models were recently discontinued. I suggest checking around at local dealerships as they may still have some of these models available. These models are just no longer available for special orders so you will have to find one locally. It usually takes a few months before stores have sold out too. Luckily these models were discontinued after Christmas, during winter (a slower bike season) so your chances of finding one available is still pretty decent. For current models, check out the BIKES section of http://www.electrabike.com

I also replied back to her asking if there would be any new men's models replacing the discontinued bikes and...

Hello Casey,

Eventually they will be, but new models/new catalog will not be released until October so it’s too soon to tell. Our design team is very secretive. We all find out what models are in the 2011 line up in October at the annual trade show. Since our bicycles are very “fashion forward” the design team won’t leak information early.
