I scored this today from a new consignment shop down the street from me. It is in great shape, just needs a little tweaking. I got it for a steal! and the best part is they took my name and number and they said they would call me if when they get bikes in! :D

Now to clean it up and customize it a bit

Re: Electra Townie 3i

A few more pictures with a better camera here. The whole thing is a little dirty, but that is an easy fix

The color is messing with my head. depending on the light it looks grey, blue, purple or slate

First thing I plan to do is lose the plastic silver fenders. I might switch it out the three speed for my 7 speed nexus, but I might just keep the three in there. Also might change out the tires for something wider. Maybe a whitewall or just a fatter cruiser tire.

They said the front brake was broken, but they didn't realize the guide just needs to be popped back in

Nice bike! I'd lose the fenders, decals, refectors and the pedals. Nice

I agree with all of those things, but the decals will have to stay... they are under the clearcoat

Nice update. I had that exact bike for awhile. But decided I didn't like the pedal position for commuting.

Yep, great for cruising with the kids. Not so good when you need to extra power to blow through the yellow light

Great transformation...you definitely added the cool factor to it.

You just need to paint it candy apple green now and it would look like a Rat Fink cousin.

I wonder if a set of those Electra chopper forks would fit this frame? Who needs a front brake anyway?

Candy apple green would be nice, but that is beyond my effort level. I wish pictures could relay netter how odd the current color is on this frame. Up close you can see 4 distinct different color flakes.

The neck tube on that Townie looks a little longer than the Rat Fink's.

Measure it and let me know how long it is.

The neck tube on the Rat Fink is 8" long.

The steer tube on these forks is approx. 11 3/4" long.

They use four spacers with this fork to make it fit the Rat Fink's neck tube.
