Love the virtual mock up. Those colors all look great. Gears are nice to have. Maybe use a coaster rear with gears to keep a clean look.
What?! I like this.The bike hasn't arrived yet but my vision is pretty clear and I am busily collecting the parts. Things were slow at work today so I did this illustration of my proposed build.
I am at their place for Christmas & Thanksgiving every year among other days. I am considered a part of the family and love them all. The Elgin was frustrating compared to my old standby Felts - and the Elgin looks really nice. I am loving yours! Keep going and let me know if you need anything.

Two things left that I'm hunting for is a 44t sprocket (I think I have that found) and some Nexus geared wheels, or just rear wheel.
Did you see the Nexus 8 S2 that yeshoney has in the sale section.
I have the bars that came from the Elgin I built, it's fenders (through hell and back) and the struts for the fenders. I have several Maltese cross chai wheels from Felts. I have cranks, stems, and no wheel sets at the moment. It sounds like "yeshoney" has the wheels you are looking for.

Oh thanks! That's the Garbage Picker, a Huffy we grabbed out of the garbage by the road. Custom paint, Nexus 3 speed, Columbia chain guard. Actually not too much left from the original donor.
I will be picking up the tank art decals from a buddy of mine tonight. Looks like they turned out great!

Working on smoothing out the dings and rebuilding the center ridge. The one on the right is looking pretty good now.

I picked up one of those after-market drop stands hoping it would work on my Elgin frame.
If anyone has wondered, I think with modification it will fit a number of frames.
I had to grind a tab off and also the lip along the mounting bracket.
A little sanding and touch-up paint and I think it will work just fine!
