Those rules will be changing. Every big team is already working with electric to get in front of the curve. JGR has already moved to utilizing an all electric Camry for pit stop practice. Granted it was to appease the next door neighbors to the shop and give them a break from the noise
But it is pretty darn cool none the less (and I am very anti electric)
Yeah, NASCAR has gotten too boring and drifted too far from its original concept. The last NASCAR race I went to was the version run on road racing tracks. All the other classes that day ran in the intermittent rain. Not NASCAR. They delayed all the other races because the track would get damp and big trucks with heated blowers would circle the 4.4 mile track to dry it. Just as they got ready to race it would sprinkle again and out came the blow dry trucks. Come on NASCAR, you had to do that three times. The cars functioned so poorly that front wheels came off the ground in corners. The last time I saw that was in 1963. Then top speed was way down because the cars were so heavy that they had to brake early for the corners. 180 mph was he top speed. A modified Mustang with a Roush mill later ran in poring rain and reached 200 mph.
I agree that Dodge got it right. The Mustang looks kind of close. I'm a Chevy diehard but I always felt the current Camaro looks like a caricature.Challenger was the best repop.
I say if they can't recreate a repop to look like a true vintage auto then don't even bother.
