English Dunelt Balloon/Middleweight Bike ???

I have never seen a Non-skinny tired English bike, This one has a 1959 S/A 3 speed hub, Was this an attempt to compete with the Balloon and Middleweight bikes of the time, Cool headbadge on headtube and the rear fender
