Nitpick: That's not drifting. But I do not blame you for not knowing what drifting is.

Spinning the rear wheel around a turn while steering through the turn is called a power slide.
Sliding ALL the wheels laterally around a turn is called drifting.

Powersliding is easy; drifting is not. I haven't ever seen anyone who could drift a bicycle without crashing, at all, ever, anywhere. And I do not expect to, either.

It should be possible to drift a bicycle, since drifting can only be performed while decelerating--so in theory you could coast down a big hill and enter a turn with enough speed to drift. I'd suggest you have an ambulance waiting at the bottom of the hill, however.

Nearly all of the videos you will find online of real, actual motorcycle drifting are professional GP racers on tracks doing it.
99% of the home-user videos of guys with motorcycles who make "drifting" videos are full of it. They are not even close.
They do not have good-enough motorcycles, they are not on good-enough road surfaces, and they are not going nearly fast enough.

Drifting takes VERY smooth pavement, VERY soft tires and fairly high speeds, 75+ MPH. You cannot do it going slow.

This video shows it off nicely in just the first fifteen seconds: note how the FRONT wheel slides in the turn, as well as the rear wheel. BOTH wheels leave skid marks around the turns---

It's drifting.
Power slides or off throttle over steer is still drifting. If your back end is out, you are drifting.
If you are Tazio Nuvolari, this may be with both axles or one, but either way, it's drifting.

Nuvolari is credited with the first repeatable 4 wheel drifts in racing. If it wasn't drifting, the term "4 wheel drift" wouldn't exist, but it does.

You are welcome.

There have been several articles written over the years posing the question of who is the greatest driver of all time over any era.

The determination was that all of the early greats would have been every bit as good as the new guys given an equal playing field and the same equipment.

That's a tough one, There are A LOT of good drivers throughout history.

I'd have to say a theoretical contest between Bonnie and Clyde, Jessie James, Richard Petty, David Pearson, Dale Earnhardt Sr., Dale Jr., Shirley Muldowney, John Force, Don "the swamp rat" Garletts, Steve McQueen's stunt double, Tanner Foust, and Ken Block would be really interesting to watch though. And maybe throw Jeff Gordon in there just for a laugh, see how many times he gets passed........

No seriously, how does he do it?
I got to try it!!! :D

PS: Best driver ever, between these three:
S. Loeb - A.Senna - J.M. Fangio.
In what order, will never know...
but I´m fourth for sure!

I used to have a copy of a show done for public television called "Bicycle- Celebration of the Invention" In the segment on Mountain Biking they showed the original Klunker races, with the riders doing mad slides around corners in the dirt. Looked very similar. 8)

In L.A. there is a place called Speedzone. It's a go-kart/arcade for kids joint but they have a track called the slick track. They put some type of white powder down and all of a sudden you are sliding all over like soapy water on a garage floor! I don't know what it is but it's a lot of fun. You can drift around the whole track even straight-aways! The Karts are not fast at all either, maybe 25mph tops? O, they also have propane powered 350 chevy dragsters you can race. the track is short but you still get slingshot outa the whole. Lots of fun if you are ever in so-cal. The place is in Pomona if memory serves me right? Sorry it's off topic but still fun.

Sounds like a blast. If I'm ever out that way again I'll have to check it out.
