Fat Franks with reflect stripe now??

I want to upgrade the tires on my son's Felt MP from Quick Bricks to something fatter. I passed on Big Apples (26x2.35) because the had a reflective stripe on the side. I wanted flat black. So I had the LBS order Fat Franks. They came in with a reflective stripe on them. WTH? The ones I've seen in here didn't have them! Is there an all black 26x2.35 tire I can order?

there are 2 versions, one with , one without. i have no idea which is more popular but the distributor could of sent the striped if they were out of blackwall, they do it to my lbs all the time.

The bike is staying at the LBS until Christmas. I'm having the LBS swap the tires and I'll pay the $40 difference. That's why I'm not doing it myself.

or just try to peel off the reflective stripe.

You won't peel off the reflective stripe. It appears to be printed onto the sidewall. I'm not sure what the method is, but I don't think it'll come off readily. You might be able to find a solvent to do it, but I'd be concerned that anything strong enough to take this off will also impact the rubber...

I was told a few weeks ago by my LBS that the red stripe Hanks were no longer available. Hopefully that's been corrected...

I recently bought a Fat Frank . It came with the strip. It had a place where it was sticking
out some and I just pulled it off. It left a glue stripe,like a greywall Not bad if you want that look. I could
wipe that off with some Lacquer thinner on 000 steel wool. They make one that comes without
the strip , and its called a slick side or something like that.

Eh, the moneys spent and I like the Brown tires on orange rims. But still love the red lines.

I got a pair of these put on. Saw them last night (Bike is being stored at the bike shop till I pick it up this weekend.) They look SICK on on MP! Like they were made for it! It is the fattest size I could squeeze in there stock, and they really have a military look!

^^^ I had to purchase these for my Electra Vince and I was throwing around the idea of getting some for my MP as well. They have a really good looking design. Right now I have the big apple tires on it and it rides smooth, but I will be needing new tires for it soon.

Do they have a square profile once they are mounted on your wide wheels?
